New Music from Fulton Lights

As much as I might adore a specific sound, there’s still a a lot of room for the sound of acts like Fulton Lights. The group’s latest tune, an ode to a defunct supermercado, takes the touchstones of the best choruses the National ever wrote, then rides it out with fervor. Lyrical content touches on dualities, praising the tortillas and queso oaxaca whilst also pondering if the present is the best world that one would ever know. Ultimately, the song comes to the conclusion that “this is the best world that I’ll ever know,” which might just be the rallying cry to get on with it, make great art, be great humans…and of course, listen to Fulton Lights on repeat.
