Listen to Title Track from Bird Friend’s New LP
Just last week, Bird Friend released their new long-player, Goodbye, Babylon, and I’ve definitely felt at home listening to the record’s blended styles. At times you can almost hear the guitar ghosts of various acts like the Feelies or the Bats; they embrace a mixture of sharp notes leaning up against really solid strummed acoustics. Typically, that would be enough, though I’d be lying if I didn’t own up to loving the earnestness of the vocal work on the tune; it feels alive in the recording, and that, in turn makes me feel alive within the track too.
