Blushing Announce Possessions LP

Long long ago, in a galaxy here in Austin, we helped release one of Blushing‘s earlier EPs; they’ve since gone onto bigger things, and now the news is out that they’ve signed with Kanine to release their new LP, Possessions. The first single is a delight, not just because it features Miki Berenyi (of Lush), but also because it shows continued growth in their sound. I love the various movements within the song itself; this song’s got those dreamy jangles to open up the score, but also fades right into this gritty indie rock feel, before splitting wide open to allow for Miki’s voice to drape across the sonic groundwork they’ve put before you. Should be exciting to hear the whole LP when it comes to fruition; the new LP drops in February of next year.

Another Tune from the Sea Life

Just over a month or so ago we dropped the newest single from The Sea Life, and here we are circling back to cover their newest single. It begins with a ringing distorted guitar and military marching percussion; you’re expecting the band to unleash a wall of noise. But, they pull it back to soften the blow, offering up a calm respite. Then distant howls are unleashed, a kin to a guitar pop band covering early Walkmen songs, and I totally dig it. They’ll be releasing their self-titled debut via Art is Hard Records on June 26th.

Let’s Rock with Hussy

trackshussy_fullsize_story1Had a late night last evening, so I, like many of you, will need a good pick me up this morning.  What better way to start off than this new noisy rocker from the Hussy. They’ve got a new record titled Pagan Hiss, which will be released on May 7th by Southpaw Records.  This song has a weird bit of garage rock blended with some stuttering math rock guitar lines.  You’ll find the vocals extremely similar to other acts around, which should make it super easy for you attach yourself to this tune, not to mention it’s just a rad rock track to play so you can annoy the guy in the cubicle next to you.
