Last Week’s Jams, Today (3.21-3.25)

Been a hot minute since we compiled all our weekly jams into one nice little playlist for you, but here we are again, wrapping up last week on a Monday. We’ve got tons of great jams in store, with some of the latest releases also featured. Austin gets some love, with singles/videos from Letting Up Despite Great Faults, Queen Serene and Blood (kind of/sort of). We also ran some new videos from the likes of Red Pants and Breakup Haircut, not to mention the newest jams from Jeanines and Say Sue Me…so you know, this playlist is going to be your jams.

Blushh Share High + Album Announcement

You can always rely upon Shab Ferdowsi to deliver catchy pop rock tunes with her band Blushh, and the first listen we get from the forthcoming C’est La Vie is delightfully that! The guitar work throughout this tune holds the tune in the sugary sweet zone, churning with crisp notes until the chorus drops in with this dreaminess that feels like spinning until you’re euphorically dizzy, collapsing on your lawn with a smile. Everything about is endearing and playful; it’s got this natural innocence that’s sure to worm its way deep into your brain. The new LP C’est La Vie is scheduled for release on April 29th.

Blushh Drop R.I.P. Apathy

I first got really into Blushh when they released their THX 4 Asking EP back in 2018, but I think the band knock it out of the park with their new R.I.P. Apathy LP, which just dropped on Friday (while we were all listening to Fiona on repeat). I think some of the most successful track on the album are the short pop bursts like the one hanging out below; it’s just a quick pop rocker, with Shab’s voice doing its job to sell you on the group’s sound. These are just huge hook-laden pop songs you’ll want to sing with your best friends when we all get back together.
