Irresistible Pop Music From Young Scum

13528861_1157137574345824_381270789673127550_nSometimes a pop song comes your way out of nowhere and it completely changes your mood for the entire day. Well this new one from Richmond based Young Scum has done exactly that. There is so much to enjoy here with “If you Say That”. What starts as a mostly brit-pop, jangly tune, slowly evolves with some heavier guitars to really rock some faces near the end. Yep that’ll do.

Young Scum will release a new EP entitled Zona on July 24th via Citrus City Records.

Bright & Airy New Single From Over Sands

over-sands-press-photo-2Nathan and I became fans of London based pop group Over Sands last year and we’ve been doing our best to share their music with the world. I’m excited today to share you their first bit of new music since last year with this promising new single entitled “Memory House”. Once again we are treated to a soaring bit of pop music, but this time around they’ve added some killer beats and a bright guitar throughout the song. If you haven’t checked these guys out yet, you should now.

Over Sands will drop a new EP entitled Roman Rooms on August 19th.

Bright Pop From Table People

10945491_785662944822372_8709127713345475891_nTable People is a band from Seoul who make some very enticing and interesting pop music.  This tune below, “Ride With Me”, is a prime example of the brand of simple, yet still bright and fun type of sound the band creates.  Sort of like a Tokyo Police Club meets Los Campesinos! sound if you will…. I dig.

If you’re into it, you can buy their new album Ride With Me on bandcamp right now.

New Bright Pop From The Almighty Rhombus

539670_484549354936650_143176253_nThe Almighty Rhombus are a new band to me who hail from the great white north in a sort of small town called Sudbury (raise your hand if you had to look that up).  Today I’m sharing with you a bright pop tune from the band called “She Didn’t Want Me” that’s the reason for my new found interest in the group.  When I listen to the song, I can’t help but think of old friends, and fellow Canadians, Ruby Coast with their light and airy pop music.  If you dig, check out more of their songs on bandcamp and say hello.

Bright Pop From Airplanes

artworks-000032959104-ct80ee-originalBack in November, I brought you guys a taste of a new Fayettville based group going by the name Airplanes.  Today I’m excited to share another new song from the band called “A Little Light” that shows a bit more quality in production when compared to the previous song I shared.  You’ll notice the bright and sunny side of the song that’s something could make your day a little better.  Hope you enjoy.

Stay tuned to April 19th for the release of the band’s new EP on Manic Pop Records.
