Enjoy This New Las Rosas Song

If you’re in the mood for some feel good rock music, I’d suggest you check out this new track called “Christa” from Brooklyn based Las Rosas. It’s pretty straightforward indie rock with some great sounding guitars and a super tight mix. The band might be confused for early era Phoenix or even a little bit more of a guitar driven act like The Vaccines. Call it what you will, I dig it.

This track is currently available on a fancy pink 7″vinyl version you can buy now via Greenway Records. It will also appear as the lead single to the band’s new album entitled Shadow By Your Side due out May 11th.

New Rocker From Stimmerman

We’re done talking about how much we’re struggling after last week and it’s time to start rocking again! Getting you back in the rock mood is this banger called “Tough Talk” from Brooklyn based Stimmerman. The group, artistically run by Eva Lawitts, features some loud and rocking guitars with some very impressive key and speed changes. It’s sort of like some old school Cursive if fronted by a female lead singer. Nicely done Eva.

This track will appear on an EP entitled Pleasant Vistas in a Somber Place due out this April.

SXSW Interview: BODEGA

Earlier this week BODEGA announced they’ll be working with What’s Your Rupture to release their new LP. With that came the additional buzz as the band head from Brooklyn to Austin for SXSW, bringing a blend of creatively arty rock n’ roll. If you’re looking for that act that everyone will rave about when the fest is over, I have a feeling this might be the one. Click on for their answers to our little interview! Including the hot gossip on their label boss and his disdain for cheese! Who doesn’t like cheese?!

Sun Voyager Deliver Again

What else could we possibly say about Brooklyn based band Sun Voyager? We’ve been posting their tunes for several years now and the guys continue to hit the mark time after time. With that out of the way, I was pleased to find a new single from the boys in my inbox a few days ago and even more pleased to share “Caves of Steel” with you now. Once again we are treated to some of the heaviest, psych themed rock music I’ve ever heard. It’s like these guys know only one speed, and I dig it.

This track appears on new album Seismic Vibes due out April 20th on King Pizza Records (pre-order).

Brooding Pop From FRAME

Man I love when checking out things for the website I sometimes find a track that wouldn’t normally be in my wheelhouse, but it impresses me big time. Such is the case with this new song “One of a Kind” from Brooklyn based artist FRAME. It’s a full and synth heavy pop number similar to a band like Baltimore’s Kindest Lines. Whomever you want to compare this to, you have to admit that it’s catchy as hell right? The answer is yes.

FRAME will drop State of Mind on October 27th via Concierge Records. Pre-order.

Check Out This New Single From No Kill

On a bleak and somewhat gloomy Monday, it’s important to find some music to keep you going through the day and week. Helping me boost spirits this morning is a track called “Eddie Vedder” from Brooklyn based group No Kill. The song reminds me a bit of an older ballad by Yeah Yeah Yeahs with guitars, drums and vocals the main emphasis. Be careful though, the song builds towards the end and erupts in a beautiful wall of noise. Carry on my friends.

Video Premiere: Nomads – Phasmophobia

I’ve been getting on board with this NOMADS train for the last few months or so and am growing my fandom as more music comes my way. At first it was something a bit different for me, but now it’s become something that I am completely in to. Today I’m elated to share a premiere of this video for new phobia themed song “Phasmophbia”. Featuring drums from Brian Wolfe (David Byrne & St. Vincent/The Dap Kings) this video/song is an electronic jam which features the Brooklyn groups unique take on what you once thought a live show should be. Creativity and a thoughtful new take on the elctronic/snyth genre are clearly present in this new track “Phasmophbia”. Check it out below:

Dreamy New Track From Widowspeak

The Brooklyn music scene am I right? It’s like a new band comes our way from the area almost everyday and it continues to shock me. We represent Brooklyn again today with this track called “The Dream” from Widowspeak. It’s definitely a dream pop number reminiscent of pioneers like Beach House or even newbies like Alvvays. You are sure to sink in and be swept away with the beauty of this track.

Widowspeak will release Expect the Best on August 25th via Captured Tracks.

Check Out This New Abraham King Tune

Stop what you’re doing right now and check out this new tune called “Spit” from Brooklyn based outfit Abraham King. It starts a little bit slow, almost a downer to be honest, but once it drops and the heavy bass comes in, it brings something truly special. Think old school 90s indie bands like Pavement if the breaks were even heavier.

Abraham King will dropping their debut LP sometime this fall. Stay tuned.

Enjoy Some Guitar Rock From Washer

If you’re looking for some straight up guitar driven rock, you need look no further than this track called “Dog Go Bark” from Brooklyn based Washer. This one is a perfect example of less is more with a simple, heavy distorted guitar and some drums. Think Wavves, but even a bit more broken down. I’m thinking this one will be perfect to take you into the last weekend of summer.

Washer will release All Aboard via Exploding in Sound on September 15th.
