Color Palette Share Barcelona Single

Waking up on a Monday can be a struggle, so we need something with just the right amount of edge and pop to kind of awaken us from that weekend slumber; Color Palette is here to give us both! Much like Endearments, they’re playing a brand of indie rock that’s just on the softer side of heavy jangle pop; you can hear the distortion and noise lurking, but they’re never quite let into the party on this tune, trading for shimmering pop melodies that soar right through your speakers. Can’t really imagine a better way to kick off the fresh tunes of this week, so here you are!

Color Palette Release Nights Alone

If you find Mondays, or every day at this point, a struggle, then you’re going to enjoy this Color Palette tune getting under your skin. It’ll hit you almost instantly, in a similar fashion to what you’d find on a recent Black Marble or Ducks Ltd. record. There’s certainly some post-punk energy, particularly in the way some of the guitars hit sharp notes and intertwine with this driving rhythm section. The infectious nature of the track swirls around with the cooled vocal flavoring giving a nice little dark coat to match the underlying melody of what’s pumping through your speakers. Good place to start the week with new tunes!

Color Palette Share New Shooting Stars EP

It’s great to walk indoors from outside and find music matching the natural world; in this case, the heavy weight of the fog matches the latest release that came my way from Color Palette. The DC outfit just released their Shooting Stars EP, and this single below is the perfect way to sample their sound. On my end, it lives somewhere in that territory between slowcore and dream pop; it’s crafting this great expanse that has a natural ebb and flow, filled in by textural washes of guitars and synths that add to the tune’s vibe. There’s a sonic punch up in the chorus, with a slight backing vocal that brings up the volume, only to slink into this sexy little guitar turn that leads you back to the chorus. Give it all a listen, and tell me you don’t love it.
