We caught up with our good friends Colourmusic, who opened for Colour Revolt. Texans Dignan kicked off the night, Colourmusic brought the noise, and Colour Revolt left everyone happy.
And when we say Colourmusic brought the noise, we mean it. Colourmusic was about as loud as we can remember anyone ever being at Emo’s, and that is saying a lot. Earplugs were complaining to the management. It was awesome.

It is a very busy weekend for shows in Austin ladies gentlemen, very busy indeed. Prior to the official start of the weekend, you have some tough choices to make on Thursday night and the show at Emo’s headlined by Colour Revolt should definitely be on your radar. We are of course more excited for our boyfriends in the supporting band Colourmusic. I hear those guys know how to rock and stuff. Opening support on the night is provided by Dignan.

Despite some of the recent major changes around Colour Revolt with departures of key members and whatnot, I still enjoy the band and their tunes. I’ll be supporting that sound by stopping in at Mohawk on Friday night for a set by the band. If nothing else, you gotta know these guys can rock some faces in the live setting. Your opening support will be provided by locals White White Lights. Sounds like a good time to me!

So an old favorite of mine Colour Revolt is apparently still making new music? I thought the band was calling it quits for sure… I mean after 3 members of the band leave, you get dropped by your label and your left only with a lead singer and a guitar player, you’d think it might be time to hang it up. Well don’t tell that to leading man Jesse Coppenbarger. The group is pressing on and ready to release their third LP in august entitled The Cradle. Below you can find the first single from the upcoming album “Our Names”. Glad to hear this group will be continuing to make solid tunes.

If you’re appetite for live music hasn’t been quenched by the madness that is ACL, make your way to the Parish on Monday night for a set by Oxford, MS band Colour Revolt. Local support will be provided by Winston Audio and Ume. Now we’ve seen this band a few times before and we can honestly say that this one will be worth wiping the dust off your face and shaking off your ACL hangover.

Boulder rock band, Rose Hill Drive, will be playing the indoor stage at Stubbs on Wednesday night. In even better news, Colour Revolt (who we did a little feature on before ACL), will be opening things up for the Boulder boys. Doors for this show are at 10:30 and tickets can be bought for $12 from front gate tickets. We’ve also got a tune from Rose Hill Drive below called “Trans Am”.

We decided to take a different route in reviewing the events of ACL and we thought a Top 10 List would be the way to go. This isn’t just a list of our favorite bands, rather a list of the best things, moments, memories or any other tasty randomness we could come up with that went down over the weekend. This being the week leading up to ACL, we’re going to preview the Festival by offering you a feature of a few bands we’re pumped about seeing.
