Ryli Share Friend Collector Video

One of the great treats of this summer is going to be Come And Get Me, the latest LP from Ryli; they’ve already won us over with a handful of singles, and the latest might be one of my favorite from the new LP. I love the way the guitar has that light strum meets jangle intro, waiting for the drums to drop in before the tune officially kicks off. There’s this lightness to Yea-Ming Chen’s delivery that has this timeless charm to it, especially when it moves into the chorus where the tone slightly changes. While you can see like-minded artists pushing the tempo, the group seem to revel in a settled vibe, sitting back and locking into the groove while Chen’s melodious delivery sweetens the deal. Grab the LP before it drops on June 27th via Dandy Boy Records.

Ryli Give Us Break Single

When the thundering drum groove opened on this new Ryli track, it settled me for a nice little ride; I hitched on, waiting for the voice of Yea-Ming Chen to join, along with the guitars. As soon as that settled, the track embraces a cooled glow that works with this earnestness that takes a dreamier style and pushes it into something that feels a touch more haunting in its presentation. In a sense, it reminds me of a more sparkling version of late Fresh and Onlys, tying in elements of garage and psychedelia, albeit with a touch more polish to maximize the listener’s joy. The band’s new LP, Come and Get Me, will be out on June 27th via Dandy Boy Records.

Ryli Return with Come and Get Me

I love Yea-Ming Chen (musically, don’t get weird!), whether she’s covering the Velvet Underground, fronting the Rumours, or the springier side of pop with Ryli; the latter is where we have her popping in today, as the the band have just announced Come and Get Me, featuring this delight below. You can certainly hear all sorts of indiepop nods noodling about in this tune, though the interesting thing is how much springiness the rhythm section gives the track; it creates this almost danceable sound amidst a wall that feels like the noisier version of any number of great girl groups. If you’re not tapping your toes and grinning ear to ear, then we can’t help you any more. Unless, you grab the new LP before it drops on June 27th via Dandy Boy Records.
