Daily Worker Share Radio Gurls Video

If you’re a great songwriter, you don’t generally need a lot of gimmicks or tricks, which is why I’ve always appreciated Daily Worker and Harold Whit Williams. His songs have this timelessness, embracing life’s joy and generally kicking it out with a tasty little hook that easily satisfies. Now, we’ve got a fresh track for your ears, dropping in some chunky punk riffs, with a tasty little solo, and a bit of jubilation hitting in the chorus. When it switches gears and drops in that punch, you’re immediately greeted with a that tasty treat you’ve been looking for all day. This track will appear on a new album titled Burn it All Down (Songs for Corey) dropping on November 16th via Radio Gurl Records.

Last Week’s Jams (8.28 – 9.1)

It was definitely a busy week on my end, but we pushed through and still managed to crank out some really great music for you all. RayRay got to run the sweet new album stream for Grimson‘s new LP, and I was just hopping all over the place like musical ADHD music junkie I am. Had some good power-pop from the Slow Summits and Colored Lights, to give you some energy. Some great ballad work by Austin artists Feeling Small and Daily Worker to warm and make you cry at once. Plus, I got to bump that new jam from Pachyman, not to mention our weekly dose of all the goods from Australia like Lower Plenty, Screensaver, and Vintage Crop. Stream on below, amigo!

Daily Worker Shares Look to the Light Video, Releases Melancholia EP

Earlier this year, former Cotton Mather guitarist Harold Whit Williams brought us Autofiction under his Daily Worker moniker, but not one to rest on his laurels, he’s already had a few EPs drop, including the release of Melancholia today. With said release, Harold sent us over a video for stunner “Look to the Light,” a track that plays with hints of Americana and jangling guitar notes. It’s one of those songs that tugs at the moment, begging us to try and find glimmers of positivity in the world around us. The video accompaniment moves back and forth between nostalgic footage and black/white video of Harold and his guitar. You should take a moment today to spend time with Melancholia; you can stream it all HERE.

Last Week’s Jams, Today (11.28 – 12.2)

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve run our weekly recap, but last week we covered a ton of ground, so why not give you a chance to see what all we were digging on our end? It was good to see Trouble in Mind with a couple of new releases we’re likely to enjoy from Martin Frawley and Connections. We also got to meet new supergroup from Melbourne, Equal Parts and their debut single. Plus, we even got to dip our toes in the Austin waters, with a new Daily Worker tune and a live recording from Balmorhea. Browse below, see what you’re into…likely all of it?

Daily Worker Share My Drug

Harold Whit Williams has made a name for himself as a member of Cotton Mather, but the longtime Austinite is now dedicated to working things out on his own…thus here we are with a brand new single from his Daily Worker project. Listening to this title track from the My Drug EP, I can’t help but think back to the brand of pop popularized by indie nerds who loved bands like Beulah. The way Williams and the backing vocalist have that little joyous rise in the melody just makes this perfect little piece of pop taffy for me to nibble on. There’s never a bad day for some good old fashioned pop rock, and Mr. Wililams is aiming to please right from the start. My Drug EP is out on October 1st.
