Last Week’s Jams (2.24 – 2.28)

Pretty solid wee of new music last week, and we got to as much as our time allowed. We even managed to start getting some of our SXSW coverage together, as the festival is somehow just over the horizon; RayRay got an interview up with Population II you should check out. We even got back on some album stream coverage, making sure to have the homies in Constant Follower and Daily Worker up there. We continue as the one-site hype machine for Sharp Pins Radio DDR reissue, but there some of my favorite acts also returned with their own new jams to grab us, like Dumb Things and Jetstream Pony. I even jumped on the Sports Team train with their latest single. Get into it below.

Darci Phenix Shares Truth and Clear Water Video

There are two ways to indulge in the below video, but rest assured, this new track from Darci Phenix is not to be overlooked. You can take a breath, relish in the craft of Darci’s sister, Sarah…or fast forward past the 1st minute to where the tune begins. Musically, the song carries you on this folk voyage, moving from these intricately picked strings and softened vocal notes. But, the tune begins to build, unfolding and stacking sounds to where the song begins to swell before your ears. Over and over, the song rises, only to recede and calmly close with a gentle nature; this tune appears on here new album, Sable, out on March 6th via Get Loud Recordings.
