The other day I got a sneak peek at Secrets, the new record from Deep Sea Diver, and I’m really impressed with what I hear, thus why we’re sharing the new single with you. For me, it’s the prime example of modern pop music, blending elements of accessible mainstream and indie rock into one huge wall of infectious tunes. Good tracks won’t let you pull away, and this is one of em’. Look for their new effort to hit on February 19th via High Beam.

Fresh Track from Deep Sea Diver

There’s really no telling what you’re going to get from Deep Sea Diver, especially when you listen to this track. It’s opening guitar lines had me expecting something entirely different than what I heard when the vocal entered. These varying sounds and approaches within the confines of a singular track are what make listening so enjoyable. You’ll find dream pop sensibility hiding in corners where only the jagged guitar lines are willing to lurk. Then they allow the song to slowly fade out…saying goodbye to the listener. All this should make Secrets, their new album, somewhat of an interesting journey…the band release it on their own High Beam on February 19th.

Wolf Girl Sign Up with Oddbox Records

Why not close out the week with a little bit of noisy indiepop? Wolf Girl registered on my radar last year with their Mama’s Boy EP, but it looks like they’re ready to move on with a new album for Oddbox Records. This week they tossed out a brand new track from the forthcoming release, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. I love the sultry sound of the vocals working against those chugging guitar riffs and simple percussive beats. Seems as good a way as any to wrap up a week; I hope this one gives you the feels.
