Dew Claw Share Fantastic Voyage Video

The core songwriting duo of Stephen Hunking and Chris Xefos know their way around a good hook, seeing as they’ve been at the helm of various rock endeavors for nearly 3 decades (Hypnowheel, King Missile, etc); the idiom “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is irrelevant, as this band is seasoned enough to know how to grab your ear in a hurry. It’ll only take you 4 seconds before the grooving seduction of this brand new Dew Claw single gets its teeth in you; the boogey of the guitar riffs match up perfectly with the hand-clapping stomp of the drums. They’re employment of the gang-vocal effect doubles down on the catchiness here, bridging a thundering garage vibe with a bit of power-pop swagger. All these little pieces of great songwriting get tied together with a ribbon of joy that shines through the video accompaniment, created by Stephen himself. This is just one of the new tunes that’ll appear on their new AA single, dropping September 13th via Dromedary Records.

All three of these acts have definitely featured on our pages over the last few months, and really, I probably don’t need to go into too much detail, as you’re likely just clicking for the streams, right? No biggie. You get some pop rock from New Zealand; the new album from an ex-Constantine, and a record I’ve been raving about all month. Just click on the streams, enjoy the music, and have a rad Friday.

More Music from Guy Capecelatro III

Still going to quietly scream at the heavens until you all pay attention to Guy Capecelatro III; I’m here to share yet another single from the forthcoming Heading North Again. Something in his songwriting style here definitely feels nostalgic, lost somewhere between late 90s college rock and early stages of emo (in a good way!!). His voice feels pained at times, but so intimate, that its like he’s sitting next to you pouring out his heart throughout this single. Guy’s music just feels suited for those personal moments by yourself, solace for those in need. Heading North Again is out this Friday via Dromedary Records.

Guy Capecelatro III Shares Video for Wake

Since hitting upon Guy Capecelatro III last week, I feel like I stumbled upon a goldmine I didn’t know I needed in my life; I’ve been devouring his back catalogue non-stop since that point. But, as I was being introduced to Guy, he was dropping another track from his next album. This song’s striking, if only for its grand emotive quality while still seeming fairly stripped down to the basics of the craft. There’s a beautiful backing vocal that almost feels like an added instrument at times, joining up with Guy for the chorus. But, other than a light percussive element, the song’s all vocals and strum and power. Heading North Again is out April 29th via Dromedary Records.

Maine’s Guy Capecelatro III wasn’t on my radar until I read the story about how he gathered about 30 musicians into an old gymnasium to complete a collective folk record back in 2012. That album made it to light, but now, there were apparently a slew of songs that didn’t make the original cut, and will now be released into the wild courtesy of Dromedary Records. There’s something special going on in the songwriting, and I’m a sucker for deep arrangements and how cacophony can be molded into beauty. Guy’s voice is special too, almost taking in this sort of post-hardcore feel, despite being generally built upon calmed melodies. The new collection, titled Heading North Again, will be out on April 29th.
