Everyone’s favorite Austin band …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead have been fairly quiet since the release of their 2006 album So Divided which wasn’t exactly loved by critics, or fans for that matter. The band has resurfaced recently with an in depth interview over on the Drowned in Sound website. The interview sees the band discussing a new album set to be released in early 2009 on their own label Richter Scale. The band also recently provided a live set for the Daytrotter website with 4 songs that you can download or stream. (Check out “Will You Smile Again for Me?”) Finally, if you’re not familiar with the band, below is a song called “Another Morning Stoner” off the band’s 2002 album (and best release to date) Source Tags & Codes.

Sunken Treasure Records

The boys that brought you Done Waiting now have their own record label called Sunken Treasure Records with a brand new digital download store. So what, you ask? Well, they have the latest release from Miranda Sound as a pay what you want download. Head to their digital store and get your Radiohead like downloading on. They also have Miranda Sound’s last album Western Reserve as a completely free download on their main site. Of course we have for you a song on their newest album that you can check out if you just really can’t decide on parting with that precious $1 you’ve been saving.

White Denim Mix Tape

Our Austin boys White Denim recently posted a youtube mix tape on the Drowned in Sound website. The compilation is pretty awesome, featuring the likes of R. Kelly, Pink Floyd & Stevie Wonder among others. The band is about to kick off a UK tour in support of their new album Workout Holiday which hits stores tomorrow.
