Last Week’s Jams (7.15 – 7.19)

After a rather mellow preceding week, this past one hit hard with some bigs hits for us on our end. We took some time out to reach out to our friend Andy from Chime School, grabbed a quick interview and a vegan chili recipe. Fell in love with a couple of great new pop tunes from the likes of Sassyhiya and Sumos, plus that Casual Technicians wasn’t too shabby either. Repped some album love for Crack Cloud, Manners Manners, Julia Sophie, Immortal Nightbody, Red Jacket and Nightshift too. Plus, good solid Austin contingent getting love with new music from Being Dead, Hallo and Blood (Austin adjacent, right?). Dig in and find a cool tune below.

Eazyhead Share Narcissist Single

Manila band Eazyhead have already graced our Internet pages, and their latest single continues to seem them spiraling down the the stairwell of hedonistic psychedelia. Thumping grooves build the foundation at the start, with guitar lines bending and shaking, scraping the edges of your speakers as they crawl through to open up into the jangling swirl of thundering psychedelia. You get to dive into the cloud-filled room with the band, scorching guitar riffs echoing about the walls while they allow for the vocals to crawl across the floor of the tune. Their new album Personal Echo Chamber has the makings of a true psychedelic experience, so look for its release via Dedstrange on August 23rd.

Last Week’s Jams (6.17 – 6.21)

What started off as a slow week quickly hit hard once the Softies announced their return to the scene after a few decades away. While that may have overshadowed my personal adoration, there was still plenty of cool things to jam out to, or so I thought. The Teenage Tom Petties take on a power pop version of doo-wop, while Chime School announced what seems to be the purest of jangle pop record ever to exist. We had some outsider stuff too that I was super into, like the new Robber Robber single…plus some 7 degrees of Austin made easy with new music from Blood and Lunar Vacation. And, if you need sweet pop feels, try out the new 7ebra or Emma Russack jams. All in all, some great new finds for you here, if you’ll only press play.

Eazyhead Share Feel Alright Video

Was momentarily at risk of going full on indiepop mode today, so wanted to mix up your morning by offering this brilliant bit of psychedelia from Filipino outfit Eazyhead. They’re offering up that sort of Brian Jonestown meets Spiritualized vibe, letting the song sort of billow in a circular nature, almost as if they’re crafting some sort of hazy seance that’s got you under it’s spell. In the latter half you’ve got this dynamic solo that cuts its way through the smog, but in that, there’s also an understated pop sensation that begins to filter through the noise, leaving you with this bright charm to close it out with a nice strum. The band are releasing Personal Echo Chamber via Dedstrange on August 23rd.
