Fleur Bleu E Share Waterfall Springs Video

One of the surprises of my year has been the debut LP from Paris outfit Fleur Bleu-e; they just dropped Unrequited Love last week, with this new video popping up for the album’s lead track. Of course, I’m always a sucker for a twinkling guitar chord, such as opens this song, kind of letting the melody sparkle and fade in the distance; it sets the perfect scene for the vocal to walk right on in with this smoky suavity. Whereas other acts might rush the guns here, I love the pensive nature that lurks in this tune, keeping a certain amount of space so that you can feel the track twirling all around you. Be sure to check out the rest of the LP HERE.

Last Week’s Jams (9.18 – 9.22)

Last week was kind of light on the tunes, at least from my end of things. That being said, it was a pretty heavy week in terms of tunes that made me swoon. We got to premiere new stuff from Citric Dummies and Red Pants, which rule, equally. Of course, it was nice to see our pals in Voxtrot take back up their crown as master of pop; Bubblegum Lemonade was another friend making a return with new music too! All that, and I haven’t even touched on the Lower Plenty track that nearly broke me listening to it. The Serfs and Dancer both had great new music out there; those hit from Alien Nosejob and the Exbats on Goner Records didn’t hurt either. Maybe light on coverage in lieu of our recent weeks, but so much great stuff to dig into here.

Fleur Bleu-e Release New Single

We covered the first single from French outfit Fleur bleu-e, and they’ve got another new tune that really feels perfect for a reflective Thursday listen. It reminds me a lot of Bones Garage, the Israeli band we worked with on our label, sort of melding classical pop vocals with a dreamier, janglier guitar underbelly. Here, the vocals enter the picture first, with a sort of warped guitar echoing in the background; it allows you to kind of relax as the melody laps at your ear. With continued patience, the song begins to reveal itself with sharper guitar notes that playfully tickle your ears and ask for you to dive into the depths of the band’s sound. This tune’s brought to you courtesy of Pan European Recording.

Fleur Bleu E Prep Debut Album, Share Single

If you find yourself drifting a bit today, then might I suggest you dive into this new track from Parisian outfit Fleur Bleu E, accompanying the announcement of their debut LP. Almost instantly you’re steeped in this almost ambient vocal; it’s as if you’re ears are being caressed ever so carefully from the inside. It’s likely we’d probably file this under dream pop, but the way that it creates this cinematic vibration seems to supersede the genre…could just be me. Anyways, escapist pop music is at its best here, so keep an eye out for Unrequited Love this Fall via Pan European Recordings.
