A few weeks back we covered this great song from the forthcoming I Was a King LP, and now, I feel its in your best interest to remind you of the song’s powers by sharing their fresh new video. The last time I praised the band for maybe taking a step outside the expectations of power-pop, but this go round, let’s highlight Anne Lise Frokedal. Her stunning performance here should come as no surprise if you’ve listened to her solo work as Frokedal; I suggest checking out How We Made It. Delightful New Frokedal Tune

Frokedal has a new album coming out in a little over a month, and I’ve been spending a lot of time on the side listening to the various singles. The latest is an assured charmer begging for you to indulge your pop fantasies. There’s definitely a nod to various indiepop genres in the opening moments with the way the keyboard and guitars intermingle, opening the curtain for Frokedal’s voice. She operates somewhere between smoky chanteuse and angelic pop star; it’s the perfect balance needed for this song. If your nostalgic for classic pop songs, then you need look no further; How We Made It will be out on August 31st via Propeller Recordings.

New Music from Frokedal

Oslo’s Frokedal deserves your attention today. She’s just released a brand new double single, and it’s a pretty stunning two-song punch. The guitar work seems to intricate and personal, almost as if the strings are barely tickled to produce this enveloping sound. On “LTF,” I love the slight pitch raises in her voice, accompanied by some perfect accompanying bits that really make the song swell your senses. “Cracks” seems to have a more wistful bent, with a male counterpart aiding in the vocal performance. These songs seem huge, built for large audiences…though their sentiment seems quite personal. Join me in becoming a fan of Frokedal.
