Rachel Angel Signs to GFP Label Human Noise Records

It seems like everyone’s getting in on the record label via blog scene, with Gold Flake Paint the latest to create Human Noise Records. The site’s been rather kind to us and our label, so it only seems fair we shine a little light their way…we’re all friends here. Plus, this Rachel Angel single is pretty special, resting in the realm that was dominated by Jenny Lewis for so long. Initially the vocals drew me in, but the slide guitar and pronounced production that courses through the track really leaves you breathless. Her new Not Enough EP will drop next Friday, and you can grab it HERE. Congrats Tom!

Celebrate Seven Years of Gold Flake Paint with New Compilation

This week marks 7 years that the site Gold Flake Paint has been up and running, and while it may be odd for us to hype another blog/site, I think it’s important to give credit where credit is due. Why the love? Let me count the ways…

First, the site has been extremely supportive of our work on our own label ATH Records, running countless pieces on our artists…like yesterday’s piece on Summer Salt. Each piece is thoughtful and well written, reminiscent of other sites years ago. But, their support is honestly just a small nod to the site’s hard work.
