This Friday, you’re all going to hear the gloriousness of Natalie Jane Hill‘s new LP. It’s a record filled with this masterful maturity that illustrates how quickly Hill has grown into her work. Her voice is incredibly strong, like a folk troubadour that’s been writing songs for decades. But, that said, I expected that, having been following Natalie since Azalea dropped years back; the aforementioned maturity comes from the subtle nuances of her writing this go round. Listen right about the 1:50 mark, where the song journeys off into something that feels a little more blissed out, laced with the spirit of folk as the song circles back and comes to a close. Hopeful Woman drops Friday via Dear Life Records.

Simply put, Natalie Jane Hill is a voice you should all be swimming towards. We’ve been praising the previous singles from Hopeful Woman, but this new jam is just a special piece that’ll stop you in your path. It’s got these beautiful arrangements that buoy the track, from trickling little piano lines to sweeping string pieces that accentuate the vocal tones. Speaking of that voice…it’s embracing a maturity that usually comes from years and years of songwriting and performances; it feels like she’s standing on a stage and everything behind her has faded away, as her voice its on spotlight on the songwriter. Such a striking tune and a special way to work on a Thursday. Hopeful Woman is out on March 6th via Dear Life Records.

I remember way back when we first came upon Natalie Jane Hill and her Azalea LP; she was living in the ATX area and you could hear the magic in her voice early on. Now, years down the line, the only thing that seems to have changed is that the voice seems even more powerful and moving; the added instrumentation on the recording allows her voice to offer varying performance moments, all of which carry you away on the wings of the birds featured in the video. Such a sensational video, and one of the many reasons we pray you don’t skip over Hopeful Woman, out March 6th via Dear Life Records.

It seems like just yesterday that Natalie Jane Hill was wowing us with Azalea, her debut LP when she was in the Austin area. Here we are a few years later, and she’s got her third LP on deck, along with a new place to call home. It took me less than 20 seconds to fall in love with this single, as her heavy notes breathed life through my speakers. When her voice stretches for higher notes, there’s a lonesome bit of guitar hanging out in the distance, providing its own lonesome narrative to balance Natalie’s performance. As spirited as the first 2 minutes are, Hill switches it in the back 45 seconds, letting the thematic element of “never left me” dwell in the presence of the listener’s brain. Really excited ot hear more from Hopeful Woman, out via Dear Life Records on January 26.
