No Suits in Miami Drop Talk to Myself Single
We’ll spend a little bit of time today hanging out in Sweden, and why not kick that off with No Suits in Miami and their tasty new jam. There’s no time wasted here as the vocals are right there in your head moments after pressing play; I think the match with the tones of the guitar fits perfectly too, bringing in this light breeze of pop. The band mention that this is a jangle pop tune from a band that spends too much time listening to Elliott Smith (not a bad thing!), so you’ll find some of that emotional pull in the lyrics of this track. Let’s hope they find that place of piece and keep cranking out tracks like this one!
While we patiently await the debut EP from The Norwegian Blue, Erik Aamot has teased us with yet another offering from the Electric Pop Group guitarist. It’s a light bit of classic indiepop sounds, with crisp guitar notes that jangle and dive, opening up into a melodious chorus with soft textures beneath to build the tune. For instance, this track features a really bright horn solo, layering the song with some warmth that certainly finds the tune growing in its majesty. Really looking forward to hearing more from the project, so keep your eyes on

Walked a fine line last week, bringing in tons of new stuff. The big news for me was that a new record from Heavenly is finally announced, not to mention a long-awaited new LP from the Twilight Sad. There were some good Austin connections via Pullman, Winged Wheel, BS and Daily Worker too, with bands and labels from our town. Big hitters like Cate Le Bon, The Orielles and Dry Cleaning also had new singles comes out, so you’ll find those lurking in here too! Dig in and kick back.
