They waited a few days to drop “Lazy,” but Club 8 have officially unleashed their September track in their monthly pop single series. This one is a rush of furious joy, reminiscent of some of those great Concretes singles from long ago. It jangles and wiggles with an old school rock n’ roll feel, spun around with this melodic core that’s going to heighten the satisfaction of the listeners. But, just as you’re sinking your teeth into the joy of life, the track wraps up and calls it a day. Perks of a mid-month release mean we don’t have to wait as long until the next hit!

Automatic Share Lazy Single

I assure you I am fully aware of how the title of this post may look, but Automatic needn’t worry, as one quick listen to this single will have you in the right spot. They begin with a typical nod at post-punk, using sharp drum snaps and synth dances to flesh out the sound in that sort of nostalgic pop fashion. But, they built in an interesting twist, changing the vocal approach and the entire groove of the tune around the 1:10 mark; it creates this bit of coy banter between the audience and the listener, and definitely illustrates the group flexing their craft as they move forward in their career. Is It Now will be out September 26th via Stones Throw.

Obligatory Lunch Ladies Post

The last month has seen me cover almost every song on the forthcoming Lunch Ladies LP, and why stop there? Today I bring you the latest single from the band, yet another installment in their energetic dream pop repertoire. This song has a good deal of bounce to it, crashing with a jagged guitar chug before the percussion rattles in your ears. You’ll get both female and male vocals uniting here, which has come in spurts, but it’s dominant on this new single. Good Eye Records will be releasing Down On Sunset Strip, so you’ll have to wait until then to grab the last few songs we haven’t featured!
