One Last Fortunato Durutti Marinetti Single

Have you picked up your copy of Fortunato Durutti Marinetti‘s Memory’s Fool LP yet? I ordered mine, and hopefully will get it early, as I have a sneaking suspicion that the record’s going to be cherished by those paying close attention. As far as this latest single goes, it seems more stripped back at first, radiating like a solemn Lou Reed. Once you get to that one-minute mark, the song begins to spring to life, building various textures into the song, layering some horns and various pieces of percussive notes together. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll spend a little of your money on grabbing this from Bobo Integral today on Bandcamp…with the LP dropping worldwide next Friday.

Fortunato Durutti Marinetti Shares All Roads Single

Honestly, I don’t usually have the patience these days for songs stretching over 4 minutes, but there’s something really special going on with Fortunato Durutti Marinetti and his forthcoming LP, Memory’s Fool. Something in this track made me think of Jackson Browne’s “These Days,” which flooded my brain with nostalgia. That’s mostly in the guitar work, as Marinetti’s distinctive vocal delivery feels more akin to something we might have gotten from Devandra Banhart or the like. Something in his song’s just seems so patient, and that sort of transpires as you’re listening, pulling you away from your world and into Fortunato’s; it’s a wonderful place to escape if I do say so myself. Memory’s Fool is out March 18th via Bobo Integral.

Fortunato Durutti Marinetti Shares Feels Like

I’m really interested in what Fortunato Durutti Marinetti brings into the indie sphere, as he’s crafting music that certainly seems to stretch our expectations. His vocals and the folk/balladeer style definitely recall some of the more modern folk tendencies. But, that being said, the way he’s crafting it feels like he’s creating these little mini symphonies. This single below has great musical arrangements, and tons of open space for the song to sort of stretch out, focusing on the musical journey rather than just providing us with the immediacy we’re used to on our end of things. If you’re as intrigued as I am, perhaps grab Memory’s Fool from Bobo Integral before it drops on March 18th.

Fortunato Durutti Marinetti Signs with Bobo Integral

Seems like we’re opening up our Wednesday musical journey with some mellow vibes, and I don’t mind that one bit as we settle into the week with this new track from Fortunato Durutti Marinetti. Listening to this new track from the forthcoming Memory’s Fool, you get little hints of Bill Callahan or maybe even Destroyer; it’s stripped back music with a powerful vocal performance. Somehow, even as the vocals come across almost spoken, they hang on the cusp of melodic, accented by these careful choral backing notes, punctuating the Marinetti’s voice. This is the sort of track that feels almost meditative, so be sure to dip your toes in this calming pool as you get your day moving; Memory’s Fool will be out on Bobo Integral come February 25th.
