Xemumba

Our friends at Bemba Entertainment have finalized the lineup and are now selling passes to the second annual Xemumba festival going down at The Mohawk in Austin. If you weren’t in attendance last year, the event highlights the best artists currently tearing things up in Latin and South America (artist list can be seen on the fancy flier). This year, Xemumba has been expanded to a two day event on Sep. 12th and 13th with two day passes a mere $30 & single day passes $20. Don’t fret if you’re one of those people holding down a nine to fiver, doors for the festival don’t open on Friday until 5pm! Recently pitchfork hyped band Titus Andronicus will be playing Mohawk tomorrow evening with local Austin act The Midgetmen. The show is set to start at 8pm with tickets costing you only $6. 07/02 Fleet Foxes Show @ Mohawk

Do you believe the hype? I’m not sure the band even believes the hype coming their way: “How are so many people here?” Believe it or not, Fleet Foxes played to a sold out crowd at Mohawk in Austin last Wednesday night and I can’t say I recall anyone selling out the Mohawk recently. The band’s name has recently spread like wildfire across the internet and music world, giving them a whole mess of new fans as evidenced by the mass of people at Mohawk.

King Khan @ Mohawk (7/6)

King Khan & The Shrines will be putting on a sure to be ridiculous show at Mohawk on Sunday night the 6th. The band is touring in support of their recent compilation The Supreme Genius of King Khan & The Shrines. Look at that picture! This show is not something to be missed. Fleet Foxes @ Mohawk (7/2)

The most talked about up and coming band to watch Fleet Foxes will be stopping by The Mohawk Austin on Wednesday night with tour mates The Dutchess & The Duke. Tickets are on sale right now for only $8 on the Transmission Entertainment ticket site. The doors are said to be opening at 7pm with opening act Balmorhea set to start at 8pm. If I was a betting man, I would bet that puts Fleet Foxes going on some time after 10pm. As always, ATH will be on hand covering the event. If you’ve read our review of the band’s most recent self-titled album, you know we are pumped about this sure to be outstanding show. F-Yeah Tour at Mohawk (6/27)

The F-Yeah tour will be bringing the traveling road show to Mohawk on Friday evening. The list of acts include Matt & Kim, Deathset, Brother Reade, Keith Morris, Team Robespierre & many more. Tickets for the show are only $8 and you can buy them ahora on the front gate tickets website. For more information about the show, check out the brand spankin’ new Transmission Entertainment website. You can also preview the show with a song by Matt & Kim entitled “Yea Yeah”. Get yo dancin’ shoes ready! Also, according to their myspace page, the Crystal Antlers will be doing an after party at the Lamar Bridge around 2 am after the show at Mohawk. I don’t know much about it, but I’m sure it will be a good time.

Okford Collapse Free Show

Sub Pop label friends Oxford Collapse will be playing at Mohawk tonight for free! That’s right, it cost you nothing, zip, nada, seriously nothing. The show will be getting started at 8 pm. It can’t really sell out but it can fill up pretty quick so you should get there early before the fire marshal says no more people inside.
