Ted Tyro Release How Can Single

A band featuring members of Wombo and Murals, dedicated to the sounds of Talking Heads and Omni, is surely going to find its way on our pages. So, here we are with Ted Tyro and their latest single. Let the first half of the song set the scene, calmly wrapping guitar notes around you, allowing the vocals to sedate you as the drum work keeps time. Then, you hit the 1 minute mark and the chorus jumps in, shifting the focus into that more artful twist and turn you might find in a track from the aforementioned Omni. But, I’m digging on how its a little heavier here, at least in tone, just on the cusp the angular ways alluded to elsewhere, but rounded and darker…as the band are clearly making their own path with this fresh tune.

More Murals Music

muralsIt trickles in, guitar chords at the ready. Slowly, percussive elements and a wash of atmospherics creep in to the track. By then, you’re emotionally invested in the new Murals tune. But, they quickly turn the pace providing you with a slightly jangly pastoral pop piece. Still, they’re not one to rest to long in one place, changing things to slowly evolve as the track draws to a close. Their new album, Violet City Lantern, should do much of the same, changing bit by bit at the listen unfolds in your eats. Look for the release on February 19th via Fire Talk.

Murals Offer New Single

muralsOn the new Murals single, it takes a few moments before the song really takes off; it opens with a dense little haunt before the guitars brightly enter with the backing of rolling drums. Still, the song’s not really started, as it takes a moment for the band to really sink into their darker approach that comes just about two minutes into the tune. Deep vocals and a trickling guitar carry the song before it moves on again into an airy jangling. I love the fact that there’s so many maneuvers within the track, which illustrates the band’s writing chops and various musical influences. Their new album, Violet City Lantern, will be released on a packed February 19th via Fire Talk.

Fresh Single from Murals

muralThere’s been a little bit of buzz of late in regards to the band Murals, and with this new single, I can definitely see more people gathering stream behind the band. It reminds me of a less detailed Clientele…leaving listeners with pleasant melodies that always tend to lurk a little bit on the dark side of things. I’ve also taken quite a liking to the guitar work, particularly in the middle section of the track as it leads towards the close. Their album Violet City Lantern is being released by Fire Talk on February 19th, and looks to be a fitting piece in the wintery music mix.
