Friday’s are always good for folks to stream a good record, but there are other places to get your everyday fare of tunes. I dug a little deeper to bring you the new LP from Native America, an act I’ve written about on these pages before. They’ve got a little bit of garage rock, a hint of swagger and a nice dose of psychedelia, all adding up to some tunes worthy of your Friday listening pleasure. Fun Rocker from Native America

There’s really no typifying the sound of this new Native America single. There’s definitely a more raucous element than your typical fare, but that breakdown in the end puts the band’s feet in traditional indie rock land. Personally, I’m preferring the grittier elements to the tune, but it also demonstrates how the band’s sound can branch out in varying directions. That should make the release of their new album, Grown Up Wrong, quite a satisfying listen. It’ll be available on November 18th via Inflated Records; you’ll enjoy it or else!

Another Gem from Dog Bite

Man oh man, Dog Bite really has something here. This is the third single from Phil Jones (not the Man United utility player sadly) and his upcoming record, Velvet Changes, which is being released by Carpark Records on February 5th. Personally, I usually don’t go straight for the electronic looping, but I like the tone of the guitar that quietly lurks in the background. Plus, the manipulated drums provides a really strong sterility to the song’s structure. If you haven’t been carried away by Jones yet, then you’re going to have no one to blame but yourself when this album goes big time.
