Model Village Announce World of Carp
We hadn’t heard from Cambridge outfit Model Village since their 2015 LP, Healing Centre, but it looks as if the band are back at it, with another record up their sleeves. Lily Rose has taken over vocal duties for the entirety of this forthcoming release, and her present is more than known in the performance below; it’s the tour de force that seemingly creates the movement of this track, looping back and forth as those jagged guitar riffs aim to keep pace. Nice little backing tracks build in some textured melody, weaving in playful guitar licks and bouncing monosyllables as the group gallop to a close. Their music, as always, is a truly immersive experience; you’ve got to let yourself go, allowing the slight nuances to move you in new directions in step with the song’s careful meandering. Never a bad day for a new track to come our way from this lot; they’ll be releasing The Wind later this year via Deutsche Grammophon.
