The Same Sky Share Emo + Drop Haunting in the Mountains
Hopefully you’ve already got The Same Sky on your radar, as I think it’ll make it easier for you to understand where they’re coming from with the lead track on their Haunting in the Mountains. While the title hints at a certain infamous genre, the only thing that really seems similar is the overlapping guitar work, perhaps notable in acts like American Football or even some of Braid’s more careful workings. The rest of the tune is an opening glimmer at the whole of the LP, using these jagged guitar lines and off-kilter stylings to keep pop fans interested. Seemingly, it’s moving all over the place, in and out of gazes and in and out of punk nods, which is just one of the many reasons you should get yourself a listen below, then jump HERE to catch all the new songs!

Waking up on a Monday can be a struggle, so we need something with just the right amount of edge and pop to kind of awaken us from that weekend slumber;
Started off with a banging amount of rock n’ roll last week, and then sort of fizzled as the week drew to a close, so all apologies. Still, there was plenty of news and new music for you; we had several SXSW Interviews too, since the festival kicks off this week! Plus, we announced the return of Welcome to the Jangle on Sunday, March 15th. But, new stuff from the likes of Memorials and Greg Mendez caught our ears, as did the newest single from zzzahara, who included Winter on their latest single. Friko continued to keep us guessing on where they’re headed, and some bonus indiepop from the Maureens and Succulents! Jump in below!
When it rains it pours, and if we’re looking back in time, last week it was pouring with great jams and great records. Whether I was bopping to new Winspear signing Swapmeet, or cranking up that new She’s Green single, there just wasn’t enough time to cover it all. I mean, there was new Voxtrot, new Heavenly…and even Ceremony dropped a live LP, and that’s just the good records that hit. We had new music from Accessory and Season 2, plus new jams from King Tuff and Deary. If you click play below, you’re in for a good hour or more of sweet music, so what are you waiting for?
What a music-filled week we had over here; there was new stuff, covers and even some live show coverage from our friend Michael Maly. Austin was on fire, with a new Voxtrot track, new Paper Sister jam, and of course, those photos from the Almost Heaven show that highlighted our local coverage. I’d also like to say Natalie Jane Hill, who is blowing me away with her new work, is like Austin adjacent, though she no longer lives in town. Old Nathan loves like Red, Pinks and Purples and the Rural Alberta Advantage made an appearance, plus, if we’re looking at long-winded names we wrote about, we couldn’t miss Rolling Blackout Coastal Fever‘s return either! Lots of stuff to enjoy below. Happy Monday!
The ATH crew have varied tastes here, but one group I think we all love is the Aussie bunch,
The fun thing about running a site that doesn’t beg you to pay subscriptions is we can kind of cover whatever we want, whenever we want. I started off the week kind of tossing my hair back to the previous week to get into the new Imaad Wasif and Club 8 jams. Then as we went forward, we covered the last singles from excellent records from both Annabelle Chairlegs and Joyce Manor. Not one to miss out on Austin jams, we got the new tune up from Don’t Get Lemon. Sprinkled it all in with some ATH faves like Prism Shores, Charm School and King Tuff. Give it all a listen!
Just last week,
I’m a big fan of Finnish outfit
