Immersion and SUSS Share In the Far Away

Having just released Nanocluster Vol. 2, Immersion have wasted no time, sharing a new single and the accompanying announcement that they’ll have Nanocluster Vol. 3 ready early next year…this including SUSS. The two entities will also be hitting the road for a decent North American tour next year, so perhaps they’re just preparing us for a spectacle we haven’t even begun to imagine. This song revels in its anti-climactic functionality, moving, yet not, with tinkering synth notes that feel like magical sparkles that burst and bloom instantaneously. It all leaves a lot of space for the vocals to rise and fall within the confines of the accompanying video, all of it working magnificently together. The scheduled release is slated for February 25th, right before the two groups hit the road together.

The Beths Return with A Real Thing

Having had two North American tours cancelled by this damned pandemic since the release of Jump Rope Grazers, The Beths are ready to finally make their way back over here on the backs of their latest release…doing it with a fresh tune in their pockets to rock your way. Liz Stokes of course is the dominating force here, with the rise and fall of the hooks revolving around her delivery. That’s not to say the band aren’t hitting it heavy together, as the drums hit furiously, pounding out a frantic pace that matches with the fever dream that influenced Stokes’ writing on this particular tune. Plus, I’m not sure any power-rock group is writing choruses with as many catchy moments as this lot. They’ll be hitting the States throughout the rest of February, and then heading over to Europe for the rest of the Spring…so catch em’ when you can! Austin date at Empire Garage on February 15th!

The Radio Dept Release New Music

So, the Radio Dept. are reissuing their sophomore effort, Pet Grief; they’re also touring the US with fellow Swedes, Hater. But! None of that is of any import, as the news is merely there to disguise a brand new song…the first in two years! Here, the band begins subtly, moving in slow with a calmed melody; it sort of reminds me of a really stripped down Clientele. Their usual haze and texturizing are absent, at least until the first minute of the song, and even then, it almost feels more like an uplifting of the initial opening, before slinking back to the trickling pop gem. They promise there’s more on the way, and I promise, I’ll be rushing to keep you up to date, as they’re one of my faves! Their US dates start in April thru early May.

Good Morning Share New Songs + NA Tour News

I’ve been following Good Morning for some time, but with their latest the Option, it seemed like things were clicking on all cylinders in their songwriting…and here they are with two brand new tunes for us to enjoy. “Take It Easy For Me, Stranger” has this solemnity in its melancholy offering; it’s like a blanket of quiet was just sort of draped across the world with only this song remaining audible. “Boy, I’m Just a Loser for Your Love” almost has this Western vibe, but I’m particularly drawn to the fragility in the vocals, almost crackling in the mix before our ears. Luckily, these two songs come with a North American tour announcement for late October, with an Austin date included at the Mohawk on Nov. 1st.

New An Horse Single + ATX Show

It’s been nearly a decade since we’ve heard from An Horse, but the Aussie duo don’t seem to have missed a beat since announcing their return. They just shared their latest single, which has Kate entering the fray rather calmly before Damon starts banging furiously on those drums. Most impressive, aside from how great Cooper sounds is that the band’s dynamic always has this perfect balance, tip-toeing between intimate and boisterous. If you’re stoked to hear the group back at it, then you’ll want to give Modern Air a listen when it drops on May 3rd via Lame-O Records.

They’ll be touring the US in May, with an Austin date on May 5th at Barracuda! We’ll be offering some giveaways and what not leading up to the show, so keep your eyes peeled! Or buy early-bird tickets HERE.
