The much anticipated Joyer record is just two weeks away from the drop date, and with that, they’ve got one more album sampler for your ears. Of all the tunes they’ve dropped this might be the one that hits closest to my daily listening habits, hanging on the edge of an atmospheric piece that takes an acoustic structure and stretches it into this pensive realm where your able to sit in the middle of the tune and soak the melody up. Really enjoying the previews we’ve got, and looking to On the Other End of the Line, out October 24th via Julia’s War.

That Joyer Jam from Last Week

Usually, our last week’s jams covers all the stuff we covered, but it was missing this sweet Joyer tune that dropped midweek, and I keep coming back to it, particularly as I’m quite in love with their vocal work here. To be honest, the musical stuff is consistently good, falling right alongside all the purveyors of great guitar pop, but on my end, I keep circling back to the way the voice seems to rise, if only for a few notes, then settles back down, giving the track this cyclical nature of subtle hooks that, like me, lead you right back to pressing play all over again. Their album, On the Other End of the Line is out on October 24th via Julia’s War Recordings.

Joyer Announce On the Other End of the Line

You’re likely going to be hearing this song talked about a lot in the next few days, and that’s excellent news for Joyer. For us, that’s better news, as this new single comes with the announcement of their new LP, On the Other End of the Line. On my side, I’m totally in love with the vocals; I can’t put my finger on why I’m drawn to them exactly, but that tonal warmth has me completely wrapped up in my own feelings. I mean that first verse just drops in and floors me every damned time. They surround the breezy voice with these twanging guitars that sound right at home among us Texas folk…just another reason we’re fawning over here. The new LP will be out on October 24th via Julia’s War Recordings.
