Stream Mo Dotti’s New Opaque LP

There are a lot of solid releases this week, such as Galaxie 500’s Uncollected Noise New York. But, on my personal listening rotation, aside from the daily singles rotation, I’ve been cranking this new Mo Dotti Opaque LP. Singles “Lucky Boy” and “Whirling Sad” have previously been featured on the site, and now you can finally dive below the surface and see that the hype is real. The entire record is brimming with the balance between shades of distortion and moonlit melodies, all of it built reverberate across your listening location, filling you with immense gratification. Press play and thank us later!

Mo Dotti Share Whirling Sad

What a gloriously disorienting way to open your day here, thanks to Mo Dotti. The band just dropped their latest single, rippling with discordant noise and thundering drum work centered around a spinning melodic vocal…all of this matched by dynamics of the video. They’ve created their own mythical moment, like sirens drawing you in with sparkling vocals, only to crash and bash once you’ve reached the shore, leading to what one can only assume is the sweetest death. It’s like their leading me astray, purposefully forcing me to rethink every decision in my day, and I couldn’t be happier. Be sure to order a copy of Opaque before it drops on September 20th.

Mo Dotti Announces Opaque LP

Surely the cool kids from yesterday were aware of Mo Dotti’s announcement about their forthcoming Opaque LP. There are tons of reasons for it to pop up (a day late) over here on ATH: the song rips, our friend Joe is helping spread the word, and old ATH (former ATX) pal Joey Oaxaca did the recording. So, here we are, better late than never encouraging you to just press play, then turn that volume up a notch or two. A pulsating wall of psychedelic screeching greets you, pulling on some of those late acidpop tones, and yet they pull all that back top open the curtain on a beautiful ray of melody. Even with the pleasant nature, you can still hear the angst of the guitars working in the distance, dropping off the perfect juxtaposition like it was no big deal. If you’re seeking beauty amidst your chaos, then be sure to order Opaque before it’s out on September 20th.
