Pop Gem From Monomyth

monomythSometimes when you hear a great pop song, your ears perk up and you’ve just got to share it with the public.  This sweet lil’ number comes from Halifax based Monomyth and is called “Something Else”.  I find myself enjoying the breezy, pop feel to this one.  Who can resist such temptation?

New album, Saturnalia Regalia, is due out on July 22nd via Mint Records.

Enjoy This Track From Teleman

teleman2014I’ve been enjoying this infectious new tune called “Mainline” from Teleman since it came my way via the email wire yesterday.  As far as singles serving as an introduction to an album, I can’t really imagine a better one than this.  The crunchy, driving guitar blends in well with the almost chant like chorus that is transitioned to nicely.  I’m also finding it hard to not stomp my feet along as a I jam out to this one.

New album, Breakfast, is due out June 3rd on Moshi Moshi.

New Music From White Arrows

White ArrowsWhite Arrows is a band that we’ve been following now for a few years and our fandom has been growing ever since.  Now it’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything from these guys so it was exciting to hear about this new track “Leave it Alone”.  I’m hearing a more mature band on this track than what has been offered in the past.  The music is still poppy of course, but a more focused, electronic sound is definitely here.

New album, In Bardo, is coming this fall via Votiv.

Here’s a fun and crunchy new pop tune from Pittsburgh based group 1,2,3 that I’ve been enjoying on repeat today. It’s an easy to like tune with the distorted, and almost garage esque guitar sounds powering us throughout the song. Hopefully you’ll find it to be a nice tune to take you into your weekend fun.

Twin Shadow is a Pop King

Twin Shadow

I’m sure that many of you heard this powerful track somewhere else yesterday, but I don’t care, as it is just too much fun for me to not share here.  Of course Mr. Twin Shadow has given us some great tunes in the past, and this one is clearly just another one to add to his hit’s catalogue.  We can find more of a driving, power pop ballad here when compared to some of his more recent dancey pop tunes.  I will dare you to resist the power of this song.  Double dare.

Twin Shadow is currently working on the follow up to his critically aclaimed 2012 album Confess.

More New Music From Dances

I have no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy this new joint “Holy Fool” by New York based outfit Dances.  We’ve previously shared standout track “Rat” elsewhere on the site, and we see more reasons for praise coming here.  It’s an easy to love pop song with a great hook and some nice sounding lead guitars slapping you in the face just a bit.  Easy to like indeed.

Debut EP, Whiter Sands, due out on April 15th via Black Bell Records.

Great New Pop Track From Goodman

avatars-000070052343-jpxiqx-t500x500A few years ago I happened upon a new artist by the name of Goodman, and immediately got on board with the sounds being created.  Today I’m happy to share with you a new tune called “Longing” that has been hard for me to not hit repeat on all day.  It’s a fairly simple pop number that gets down to catchiness at it’s core.  I really can’t resist sounds this fun.

Incredible Pop Number From Nathan K.

I’ve really veen enjoying this beautiful new track called “Most Birthdays” from songwriter Nathan K.  To me, I’m reminded a bit of some of the greatest tracks from the likes of other great groovy songwriters like War on Drugs.  Nathan has some other great tracks over on his bandcamp page and you should also like him on facebook.  Stay tuned for more information on an upcoming album.  You’ll hear it here first!

New Track From Unicycle Loves You

d2b589b0f978ab1f5240d942d3ab782b1e727f49Been quite awhile since I’ve heard anything from Brooklyn/Chicago based group Unicycle Loves You, and I’m thrilled to hear some new music from them.  This new joint is called “Face Tattoo” and features a great, washed out sort of garage rock sound.  From what I’m hearing, I’d expect the band to put on a great live show too, though I’ve never had the pleasure.
