Last Week’s Jams (6.12 – 6.16)

Summer keeps on rolling right along like the hellfire that is Texas, and the song’s just keep hitting that sweet spot. Had some old acts make a return this past week with Devendra Banhart and Sigur Ros making the cut, but also excited to see old ATH Records act Being Dead with their banging new single. Along the way we had some hits from Night Beats, Dippers, Kindsight and Sonny & the Sunsets…to name but a few of the bands we can’t seem to stop covering on our end. A good little 20 song collection for you to kick off your day here!

Private Lives Prep Hit Record; Share Trust in Me

Those of you that are itching for some great classic punk rock style riffs are going to really enjoy this new track from the forthcoming Private Lives LP. While the attitude and flair come in from those heavy riffs and smashing drum bits, there’s this howling hook coming from Jackie Blenkharn’s vocal portrayal. Her voice snakes around those riffs and drum hits, almost giving the song this natural movement that should definitely rile up listeners when the band takes the stage. This former quarantine project is stepping into the limelight, ready to take pop rock fans by storm when they drop Hit Record, out July 14th from Feel It Records.

PR Newman Shares Who Swept the Jungle Video

One of the unfortunate things about this pandemic is that music you’d expect to adore live, or tell your friends about, perhaps didn’t get the attention you’d normally give it. Take the latest album from PR Newman, Private Lives; it was released in April and we hope you didn’t miss your chance to enjoy these tunes. If you did, you can rectify your errors by enjoying this great new video form album stand out “Who Swept the Jungle,” show by Matthew Logan Vasquez and Sophie Molinari. The video has a little bit of that Texas Hill Country, as well as some of Spencer’s humor, so we hope you’ll start off your day listening…and if you’re inclined, a great thing to pick up on Bandcamp today.
