Play That Reggae Music Max Romeo
Okay, I did just spend the past 9 days hanging in the Caribbean, so perhaps I’m filled with that influence, but that soft spot for reggae in my heart makes this a vital track to jam on Friday. Max Romeo isn’t a new boy, in fact, he’s one of the few lasting survivors of the reggae scene that worked with Lee Perry back in his heyday. I think this new track from his forthcoming album is the perfect vibe, especially if you’re not too familiar with the genre. It holds onto a smooth vocal, almost a warming R&B tone, but the tune is so relaxed it’s hard not to just let the song wash over you, leaving the sun on your face. His new LP, Horror Zone, will hit on July 22nd.
