Runo Plum Shares Pink Moon
One of the acts that I missed during SXSW was Runo Plum, who shared another track today from the forthcoming Bloom Again. In the front of the track, you get an ornately plucked guitar and the softened vocals that make the project so endearing. But, whereas that would often suffice for an artist, Runo Plum’s work gets a bit of an extra touch, as the core of the song seems to be layered atop a warm desert ambiance, providing this heavenly drift that wouldn’t be out of place on a Volkswagen commercial (IYKYK). Bloom Again is the much anticipated LP, slated for release on May 8th via Winspear.

While the previous week seemed like the music biz was doing their typical song and dance, closing down releasees to focus on the lists and what nots. But, this week picked up, at least on my end, as we covered tons of new releases and new singles. There were a couple of out-of-the-blue announcements that I was grateful to enjoy, like brand new Just Joans and Kiwi Jr, both of whom just dropped some straight bangers into my mix. I really loved the new Pansy single, as its one of the more special tunes in the mix this week…and that Hirons single had its own way of captivating too. Along with all that, it was good to see Natalie Jane Hill back in the fold, as well as Emma Russack. Little bit of everything for you, so dig on.
There’s very few great records remaining on the release schedule for 2025, but one we’d like you to give your attention to is
Felt like a pretty busy week all in all; there were lots of big album news leaking out, and we tried to cover the ones we love, like new Living Hour and Telephone Numbers…and I had to squeeze in that new Blood Orange. Tons of new stuff has been coming out of Austin too, like new stuff from Dress Warm, Living Pins, Chronophage and Ingebrigt Haker Flatten (do we still get to claim San Gabriel?). Winter and TAGABOW continued with their run of solid singles, as did Wombo, so there’s a whole lot of stuff for you to sound your way through below. Bummed that new Bats tune I posted isn’t up on the DSPs.
