Electronica from Kedr Livanskiy
I’m always looking to take a different turn in my musical listening, and this track from Russia’s Kedr Livansky provides the perfect chance to absorb something entirely different than my normal fare. I think what really grabs me here is the production of the song; the beat of the song is really low in the mix, and the synthesized percussion isn’t overly pronounced. Through it all Livansky brings her vocals through, seemingly floating atop it all. Sure, I have no idea what she’s saying, but that’s beside the point, as the music attracts your ears regardless of what language is being used. Her debut EP, January Sun, comes out via 2MR on Februrary 19th.
