Trudy and the Romance Share Final Single

I fee like it’s been a long time coming for the debut from Trudy and the Romance, the UK outfit turning crooning lounge songs into broad-sweeping pop numbers for mass consumption. I love how this track builds and builds, really not even taking off until it hits the 1.5 minute mark. The doo-wop vocal arrangements really add a layer of style and class that seems long-forgotten, but I’m still likely to swoon over it…as you should be. Sandman will be dropping on May 24th via B3SCI Records, finally giving Trudy fans what we’ve all been waiting for…hope it’s as good as we dreamed it up to be.

New Tune from Trudy and the Romance

Having followed Trudy and the Romance for some time, I’m rather impressed with the sounds coming out from their forthcoming LP, Sandman. It’s weird, as weird little jazzy inflections lurk in murky background, from tinkering keys to horn blasts; I think this is where the doo-wop vibe comes in for the song title. Otherwise, this is a swelling blast of beautiful orchestral pop; it almost feels like this is what the National or the Walkmen would sound like if they were a wee bit younger. I don’t care what kind of pop fan you are, you’re really going to want to spin this before the band blows up. Sandman drops on May 24th.

New Music from Trudy and the Romance

This new track from Trudy and the Romance just popped up, so I reckoned you could give it a listen if you can crawl out of bed and spin some music today. The band have proclaimed their style as “50s mutant pop,” but it definitely has a modern swagger to it, which should help keep it on your radar. Honestly, it sounds like an angrier King Krule kicking out a rocker to get the party started, with a throatier growl to it. I’m continually impressed by the work these lads are doing; they’ll also be making their was to the US for some SXSW fun, so here’s to that!
