Seeing Hands Share New Songs

Seeing Hands just released a brand new EP yesterday. While the EP collects a few of the singles from the band, it also brandishes two stellar new tracks that are worth your time. The first, “Colours,” is this dreamy pop soundscape, hanging fragile vocal lines carefully out there to drift through the speakers of the world; I love the feel of the vocals, as if we’re all in a large group singing together. “Sorry,” the latter tune has this more electronic sheen; you can feel the rhythmic pulse at the get-go, though it still softens the edges to maximize pop sensibility. The new EP is available on 10″ via Discos de Kirlian.

Friday Fun from Seeing Hands

You know that dreamy guitar sound everyone’s using? Well, here’s more of it from Seeing Hands, though I think the production here differs a bit, allowing for the song to sound somewhat in a shambles while still delivering a tight dreaminess. I love that it doesn’t feel as sparkling clean as the guitar might lead one to believe, carefully stretching out tones and backing vocals throughout. It’s the band’s latest single in what’s becoming a fairly routine hit-making machine, so here I sit awaiting another gem just around the corner.

Dream Pop from Seeing Hands

seeinghandsNothing gets to me, especially on a Monday, like the sound of those twinkling guitars I associate with the dream pop genre; they border on jangling, if only in tone, but I’d sign up for that alone. This new single from Seeing Hands fits perfectly in there, and I think I’d push you to enjoy it on those qualities alone…except that’s not just it. Listen carefully to the slight tonal turn delivered during the chorus, lightly coated, it leaves you floating. The band continues to show promise as they work on a debut album, and with songs like these, it’s hard not to see it going somewhere special.
