While we patiently await the follow-up to their self-titled debut album, European Sun have decided to tease us with a new single that will come on their new LP, When Britain Was Great. Personally, I love the storytelling aspect of Steven Miles lyrical work; it’s something that just seems so simplistic in nature, yet stuns in this presentation. Behind Miles you get the rollicking swagger of accomplished musicianship from Rob Pursey, Ian Button and Amelia Fletcher; it’s got a mixture of punk flavor with that sort of ramshackle flare…though we all know with these songwriters, nothing ever just gets thrown together. Plus, I love the idea of a world where there is no news, where we can just breathe and be. Guess we’ll have to wait until the new LP to see if that’s the case!
