Last Week’s Jams (7.28 – 8.1)

It was a really strange week over on the music side of things; Tuesday blew up and we covered 10 brand new songs. But, then it’s like everything died and there were no new tunes. Alas, we managed to get into about 25 new jams, though one didn’t hit the DSPs, so we’ll have to have you play detective (or just go love Piggietails already). I got to meet some new bands this week, like Aussie’s Mana Pools, as well as My Generation, so be sure to keep an eye on both. Some diehard acts we love also came out with new tunes, such as Snooper‘s new album, Massage back in the fold and another Dancer hit from their forthcoming banger of an LP. Plus, the are is some ATX love from Nuclear Daisies and J’Cuuzi too! Get on it.

Slugfeast Unleash Detective Single

It might take you a moment to try on this new Slugfeast track, but just because it feels like bedroom noodling when it opens doesn’t mean you should dismiss it immediately, as you’ll be missing out here. There’s this heaviness to the single once it locks into place, dropping in with these heavy riffs behind Claire Tauber’s voice; she honestly would fit right alongside some of our favorite singers like Merce Lemon, albeit with a bold brooding behind her. In blending heavier vibes with the more melancholy vocals, they’re like a black hole for the indie masses, about to such everything into their space; be on the look out for a new record as the group have just signed up to work with Cherub Dream Records!
