Holograms Bring Us Scandinavian Punk

hologramsI’ve really been digging this new track “Flesh & Bone” from Stockholm based experimental punk group Holograms since it dropped yesterday.  It makes me think of what might happen if you mixed the hardcore tendencies of a band like Iceage with the more atmospheric qualities of a band like We Were Promised Jetpacks.  If that’s a terrible comparison, check it out for yourself and make your own description.

New album, Forever, will hit the streets on September 3rd via Captured Tracks.

New Dream Pop From Dream Curtain

It seems almost too easy to call a band dream pop when they use dream in their name so I’ll go ahead and apologize now for that.  This new electro pop sound called “Glowing” comes your way from Stockholm based artist Dream Curtain.  It’s a shout out to our more elctronica, beat driven fans and our resident electronic expert B.Gray.  I know those kids will dig it and I kind of do too.  Enjoy.

Newish Music from I Break Horses

I Break Horses keeps showing up on my liked and most played playlists after several introductions around the web as featured new music. So, I decided to share this track.

Out of Stockholm, I Break Horses is Maria Lindén and Fredrik Balck. Winter Beats is definitely a slow build, a chilly shoegaze track. I love this stuff this time of year – just enough fuzz teamed with space and synth around vocals and calming layers of noise that are perfect for being lazy on a summer afternoon (indoors).
