SSAANN Share Fade + Drop Higher

Over the last few months we’ve been kicking SSAANN singles out there, really enjoying their work, and today, not only do they share another rad single, but their entire new Higher LP is available for you. On the new track, you get a heavily weighted brand of dreamy pop, with deep synthetic textures working beneath the surface and slight little vocal effects working to add to the futuristic brand of pop they bring to the table. Throughout the whole of Higher you’ll get a mixture of synthetic structures, often times more pensive than the norm, but they never hesitate to incorporate bouncy hooks like on “Above It” or “Wade,” so spend some time with the whole of the LP below and thank me later; it’s out courtesy of Broken Palace Records!

Fresh Music from The Reds, Pinks and Purples

Having already released one of my favorite records of the year, Uncommon Weather, it seems the songwriting spirit has spurned Glenn Donaldson into churning out even more new music (thank you spirits!). Just yesterday, Glenn’s project The Reds, Pinks and Purples just tossed up two brand new tracks, and it feels like these are already 7″ ready! I love the contrast between Donaldson’s voice and the quick drumming on “Did You Put Your Song Up Today?”. But, if I’m picking a favorite, and I get to, it’s “Waiting on a Ghost to Haunt You,” which has this unique vocal delivery where Glenn’s voice seems to rise, and almost take a stumbling breath at the end of a syllable, almost like a hiccup or a dreamy pop version of Buddy Holly. Whatever. This stuff rules. Listen now!

Brand New Tunabunny Tune

You’d be excused if Tunabunny haven’t quite landed on your radar, but you’d also be missing out on one of indie rock’s special secrets. They’re set to release their 5th album, a 28 song double LP titled PCP Presents Alice in Wonderland Jr, hitting on June 23rd via HHBTM. Rumor has it that this is their response to the White Album, and our first listen should put you on notice that you’re in for a great ride. The subtle groove working beneath the track is sublime, but the vocals have this seductive sugar to it that allows the band to walk the fine line between artand pop sensibility. If you can’t find yourself falling head over heels for this tune, then I think your speakers are broken.
