Brita Phillips and Kramer Share Video for Dream #3
Earlier this year, Shimmy Disc released this incredible Rings of Saturn Box Set; it was a collection of collaborative EPs in 7″ format, featuring tons of incredible artists like Brita Phillips (Luna/D&B) and Kramer. Now we’ve got an accompanying video for their track, created by none other than Kramer himself. The wash, or film style, takes on the dreaminess alluded to in the song’s lyrics, building on that sort of sleepy haze in your head. Musically, this song’s all about the careful tip-toeing of the vocals, creeping through your ears with sparkling melody that you’ll definitely find touching. Plus, there’s added bonus points for Austin’s Thor Harris fleshing out the textures with light marimba work! Rings of Saturn is available now!

Okay, so I’m back in school and coaching women’s volleyball, which of course meant we couldn’t dare draw near the 40 or so tracks we covered the week prior. But, that being said, there were some really special tunes, and some of my favorites popping up in here. Blue Ocean and Seablite announced new LPs, while the Smashing Times dropped another stellar single to whet our appetites. Local favorites Single Lash and Sun June both announced new releases too, so it was a pretty solid week.
