Tim Kinsella has pretty much been a household name for me since the late 90s, and with that, it’s been really interesting to see his progression throughout the years. Now, his new project with Jenny Pulse, Good Fuck, are heading down to Austin for SXSW. We grabbed a few quick words for ya!

Below you’ll find answers from Oslo’s Darling West, who will be playing at the Music for Listeners Party over at Lazarus Brewing on Friday, March 15th. Worth your time? Read below! Read more
This time around we’re giving our attention to Reaches, the project of Justin Randel. If you get the chance to catch the act during SXSW, you’ll likely here new tunes from the forthcoming Wherever the Internet Goes, Sorrow Follows. Read on for Justin’s responses!
You know that you’re coming to SXSW to find something new, so why not pencil in Atlanta’s Shepherds? They’ve got a forthcoming LP later this year, and they’re self affirmed Sade fans, so you can’t really go wrong winding up at one of their sets. Don’t believe me? Well, read more about them below!
Just last week we shared the new track from Mamalarky, who have some roots here in our hometown…so we reached out to Livvy to see if she could answer our questionnaire, and she graced us with the kindness to respond. We’ve also included the band’s tour dates during SXSW at the end of the interview.
When you come to SXSW you never know what you’re going to stumble into, but 9/10, its going to be something with a lot of buzz. In the case of Rosie Tucker, the buzz is deserved, with songs to support the current hype. They will be releasing Never Not Never Not Never Not this Friday via New Professor. Read on for questionnaire responses, as well as a list of SXSW shows.
If you’ve read these pages, you’ve likely heard me compare Herzog to the American version of Sloan. It’s a certified fact; they’re incapable of writing a bad song. But, with that said, they might not be on your radar…such is the fate of the greats. So, get to know them below and hunt them down at SXSW.
Looks like our SXSW portion of today is geared towards introducing you to a few acts playing our ATH vs SOTO party, which is an all local show over at Hotel Vegas on March 10th. But, we realize there will be lost of travelers in town, so let us introduce you to the Black Drumset today, in hopes you’ll come out and see them; it’s FREE!
While the late 00s garage/surf re-hash got tired after a few years, it’s still one of my favorite sounds, particularly when it’s presented in a refreshing manner, like Chicago’s Dehd are doing. You can hear that sound immediately, matched by steadying percussion; it’s catchy too, but it’s the chorus that comes in right at the thirty second mark that really drew me into the song. It takes the track into an almost soulful ballad, though it always holds onto the band’s sense of exuberance with the “sha la la la” that crash at the end of the chorus. Catchy and nostalgic, this track makes the forthcoming WaterLP very promising; it drops on May 10th via Fire Talk.
I’ve no doubt you’ve already heard me rave on and on about Fanclub, one of our favorite current Austin acts. Well, we realized that not everyone is as familiar with them as we are, so we tossed them our SXSW questionnaire, so you can all fall in love like we did. Plus, if you’re in town on March 10th, you can catch the band at Hotel Vegas for our ATH vs SOTO party!
