The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness Share Falling Through
Not only do I love the colorful artwork, but every sound I’ve heard from the new Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness LP just rings dear and near to my heart. The riffs hang just on the right side between heavy and jangling, ringing with more force where necessary. Each melody seems focused on maximizing the emotional pull with the listener…and I say that as I try to hide the huge grin across my face. If you took the best of the late Teenies work and combined it with the melodic sensibility of the Lucksmiths, you’d pretty much be spot on with that comparison…but lets be real…this duo is definitely coming into their own! Songs from Another Life drops on February 5th via Bobo Integral.

Just a week or two ago,
A ways back we tossed up this really great single from The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness, and now we bring you the joyous B-side track from their split 7″ with The Tree House Melodies. Every time I listen to this track, I keep thinking this is what Teenage Fanclub would sound like if they never used a distortion pedal again. It’s got a slight bit of bounce in the lightly jangling guitars, and the voice seems to hold onto this sense of longing. All together it carries this understated power-pop vibe, giving you a sense of a fireside chat with one of your favorite artists. You’re going to want to get your hands on this new 7″ from Pretty Olivia Records.
I know next to nothing about The Boys with the Perpetual Nervousness, other than the fact that they’re name pays homage to the Feelies. Other than that, I’ve just been given this bright pop number that you’ll hopefully rave about to all your friends. The crisp guitar sounds circling about your ears are absolutely charming, and the warmth of the melodious vocals shouldn’t escape your attention. At this moment, less than 20 people have jammed out to this track, and that has to change, even though we don’t know a damn thing other than this glorious tune. I have been promised, via the Soundcloud notes, that there will be a 7″ coming later this Spring.
