Last Week’s Jams (9.29 – 10.3)

As we poured through B. Gray’s photo coverage of Levitation, we also were able to get in some pretty solid tracks, even a premiere here and there, so a pretty busy week on our side. We did some Austin repping with that new Mugger tune on Friday, if you dare to let it rip! Dropped brand new stuff from Strange Passage, Marni and the Lions Constellation, all which are worthy of your listening. Plus, even got to stretch our taste a bit with the likes of Greg Weeks, Devin Shaffer and Magic Fig, so feel free to step outside the confines of today’s indie rock playlist!

The Goods Announce Debut LP

It’s Friday, and the odds are you had a long weekend, good or bad or all of the above, so you need to breezy pop of the Goods in your life this morning. When the guitar came crashing into my speakers, I immediately felt the rays of sunshine looking in on me; the mood was enhanced by a stomping of classic pop drumming, pushing the pace and punch while driving home the harmonies. There’s an extra snappy bit popping off near the 1:30 mark that just crushes, so be sure you stick around for the whole tune if you want to max out your pop requirement for the day. Don’t Spoil the Fun is out on October 24th via Dandy Boy Records.

Last Week’s Jam (7.10 – 7.14)

I’m sure you missed our weekly re-runs of all the fun stuff we post, but I was on vacation! So, I hurried this week to play catch up on all those tunes, then hurried with RayRay to get them up for your ears. We had tons of stuff covered, from ATX faves A Giant Dog to a premiere of the new track from Pretty in Pink; there was nothing short of a bunch of bangers to run…and some aren’t even up on the DSPs, so we couldn’t get those in the list. Anyways…peruse the hits below, go back and read what we had to say, or don’t, just be sure to enjoy yourself a bit.

Stream EP from the Goods

It seems like everywhere you go nowadays, things are hot and only getting hotter. But, you can always hop in (or on) your ride and roll those windows down to catch a breeze. If you need the soundtrack for that though, you’d better turn on EP from the Goods. It’s a four song collection of huge riffs and sunshine filled melodies that will certainly make flying through the summertime a little bit more enjoyable. Rob Good’s playing definitely brings about those bright bits, but Paul Wiseman’s drum work through the EP gives a strong punch of energy to go along with the anthemic nature of what’s at play. Feel good summer fun can be had if you press play below. EP available now courtesy of Dandy Boy Records.
