New Single from Day Joy
Just a short while ago, Day Joy released their excellent album, Go to Sleep, Mess, which features this great new single. I like the fact that this tune exepmlifies the diversity in the group’s sound, offering a look at the softer side of the band’s musical approach. The vocals are really soft on this tune, and there’s no rushing their delivery. Meanwhile, the backing tracks have some quieted picking going on in the background, all coated in a wash of atmospheric haze. It’s a long number, with plenty of interesting moments that unfold before your ears…stay tuned to the end to listen to the string arrangement that bookends the tune.
