Late last year I brought you a nice little anthemic rocker from Dirty Fences, and I almost forgot about them. That’s until I received this new single to help spread the word on the release of their new LP. Their album Too High To Kross was released today by Volcom Entertainment, and I think a lot of people will really enjoy this tune. You’ll find a catchy/anthemic chorus you can sing along to, but the music got this fast paced heavy grit to it, which isn’t too far off the beaten path from bands like QOTSA…minus the drama. Kick off your shoes and let this one blow back your hair.

Show Review: White Lies and Asobi Seksu @ Antone’s

Antone’s is a beat off the beaten path for an indie music fan. With White Lies and Asobi Seksu coming to town, it seemed a strange venue to play host the popular Brit-pop/Indie bands. But host they did and the fans were happy to fill the space. It was a young crowd, all ages for sure. New fans for AsobiSeksu were earned. White Lies cemented fans’ loyalty. Jump it.

White Lies are a British group who’ve grown up over the last several years, bringing their release of Ritual to the forefront of media all over the globe. While they tend to get a little bit of association with bands like Joy Division, they really have more of a Killers feel, as it’s definitely not as dark as Curtis and crew. You’ll want to get there early too, as Asobi Seksu are a band on the rise. This year they released Fluorescence, and we’ve enjoyed our time with that album; we look forward to their opening slot at one of Austin’s most historic little venues. See you guys there!
