Premiere: Living Hour Share Waiter

Over the years, with everything we cover and talk about, a handful of bands sort of become those “ATH groups” who get covered consistently over a span of many years. Winnipeg’s Living Hour is one of those “approved” groups who first hit our pages nearly TEN years ago! Naturally, the band has never slowed down and have a stellar new album called Internal Infinity Drone due out on October 17th via pals Keeled Scales and Paper Bag Records. Prior to the full release, you simply must check out this new gem “Waiter,” which is sure to liven up your ear holes. We heart you Living Hour.

Pre-orders are now live for the new album!

Subtle Beauty From Mise En Scene

Winnipeg is home to the Jets, Neil Young, and my new favorite band from the city, Mise en Scene. Formed while studying art together in the city, BFFs Stef and Jodi formed the band over mutual musical tastes and have ignited a spark with unique sounds and vibes. For a taste of the duos sound, hit up this new song “Beautiful People” and left yourself fall into the dreamy tune as it flows and slowly builds throughout.

This is part of a new EP entitled Reality Bites which is available to purchase now via Light Organ Records.

Nice Dream Pop From Lev Snowe

The dream pop genre has been gaining a lot of steam recently and sometimes certain artists can pull of the genre a hell of a lot better than others. Take the young Lev Snowe for example who crafts some beautiful numbers which further expand the quality of the genre. His new song entitled “When I Look Back” is a perfect example of his song writing skills. My favorite piece of the song is near the 3:00 minute mark when things break down a bit with some slick bass lines and enchanting beats. I suggest you check it out now.

Lev Snowe will release new EP Faded Blue on June 1st.

New Throwback Rock From Departures

This is another tune I seem to be a little late on, but I don’t really care because it rules and you don’t read any other sites do you?  Right!?  The belated jam in question, “Pillars”, comes your way from Winnipeg based outfit Departures.  It’s sort of a throwback style tune that reminds me of Joy Division mixed in with a few parts Talking Heads.  That sounds A-okay to me.

New album Still and Moving Lines just came out yesterday so you should look for it in your local record store.
