Fresh Tune from Wovoka Gentle

The music of Wovoka Gentle seems to draw on various influences, which has made it difficult to pigeonhole. There’s obviously elements of folk music, yet there’s some strange touches to like the vocal spoken just beneath the main mix, adding a deeper element to this single. Also, there’s even a slight giggle when William takes over, which is both endearing but also enlightening, as the group’s not seeking to release the “perfect” final cut. The trio release their Wovoka Gentle [Blue] EP this Friday, so should you be inclined to see some people doing things a bit different, take the journey with them.

Hear Some Wovoka Gentle

I’m really stuck on this new track from Wovoka Gentle. The group seemingly operate as a folk-influenced act, but in their construction you can hear digital blips and overlapping vocals. Sure, these things have been used before, but in doing it in this manner, the band manages to create something wholly captivating…and a touch out there. It bodes well for the band’s Wovoka Gentle (Blue) EP, which should offer listeners a slightly different path down the modern indie-folk road. Look for the EP to hit on November 27th via Yucatan Records.

I’m Enjoying This Track from Wovoka Gentle

Didn’t have a clue who Wovoka Gentle was going into this track, just a push in the right direction. I’m quite impressed with this tune and the layers of work that went into crafting such exhilarating pop music. At moments the song seemingly takes on the roleof a loop project, using vocals wrapped around one another to create a huge coating of harmony. Still, put your ear closer to the speaker and you’ll hear little glimmers of Americana/folk in the actual musicianship; it’s all continuously filled these airy orchestral touches too. On November 27th the group is set to release their Wovoka Gentle EP Blue, so keep your ears peeled for more delightful tunes.
