American Watercolor Movement Share Single

Having mostly been quiet for the decade, New Jersey outfit American Watercolor Movement have since begun releasing a collection of unreleased material titled Rooftops, Rifles and Honey (there’s 3 volumes!). Listening through these releases, it seems that the collection really had something unique they were working on, at least to my ears. There’s this natural pop sensibility, something you might have heard in early Arcade Fire or even Broken Social Scene. But, I’ve also found this unique sort of post-emo feel to certain bits, with guitar lines feuding and drums rolling in and out as vocals overlap one another. Just imagine if ATDI had wanted to sound gorgeous! Just been super into this track today.
